How to choose your perfect air compressor

Choosing the air compressor that suits your needs depends on several factors, but we are certain that you’ll find a perfect match here at POLLOR. You must take into account the following things when choosing your air compressor: The air output of the compressor, the air demands of your pneumatic tools and operating pressure, the dimensions of the air compressor to ensure it will fit into your workshop.

What air compressor tank size should I choose?

The tank size that you choose should be determined by the way in which you want to use your air compressor. The larger the tank size, the longer the run cycle of the air compressor, and thus larger tank sizes allow for longer continuous use of your air compressor, without having to wait for air pressure to build up. Our 9L, 24L and 50L compressors are suitable for household applications such as inflating tyres. Our 100L and 200L models have a higher air output and are suitable for powering sandblasting, spray painting and powering pneumatic tools such as air impact wrenches, air sanders, air grinders, air ratchets and air drills.

What type of air compressor should I buy?

Looking for a quiet air compressor, choose one of our low noise oil free air compressors which use easy maintenance low noise oil free motors. If you do not have a power source for your outbuilding or garage, consider one of our petrol-powered engine driven air compressors, which do not need to be connected to a wall socket. These compressors are a perfect solution for mobile tyre fitters who do not have 230V power while out on the road. See our full guide of air compressors types here.

How powerful should my air compressor be?

The volume of airflow needed to run each specific tool will vary. The volume of air flow, measured in cubic feet per minute or CFM, is usually specified with each tool. A reference guide for the CFM needed to run each tool can be found here.
